THE BOXES OF ORDEN. Contain ancient and dangerous magic spawned from the earth and from life itself. Once someone puts the Boxes of Orden into play, that person has one year to gather the other two boxes and open one; if the year is up, the person’s life is forfeit. One box will give the opener unlimited power, another will kill the person, and the third will kill every living thing. Use of the Book of Counted Shadows helps to discern which box to open.

DOMINIE DIRTCH. Ancient weapons of magic created by the Anders; look like giant bells; the sound of the bells when rung sloughs the flesh right off the victim’s bones.
DOUDIET. Works in the Office of Commerce. Kelton.
DRAGONS. Creatures that have magic; there are a few types, including gray, green, and red. Gray dragons are shy and the smallest dragon; they are also used for hunting. Green dragons are bigger, rather dumb, have bad tempers, and can be dangerous. Red dragons are the smartest and biggest; they are very independent.
DREAM WALKER. A weapon created three thousand years before; the Towers of Perdition were built to stop them; able to slip in one’s dreams and command them; only the bond to the House of Rahl will protect one from a dream walker; able to slip into the infinite spaces of time between thoughts; can inhabit a person’s mind.
